"A coach can be the most important person in a kid’s life because he or she controls playing time, knowledge, and modeling. Because kids want to please them, coaches can reach children where no one else can, making them at times more effective than teachers, counselors, even parents."
How do you feel about parents coaching their child's team?

I feel it can be a very positive experience for a team to have someone other than a parent always coaching their team. Sure it is great to have your mom or dad play a very positive role in your sports experience, but experiencing other coaches creates a very healthy envirionment.
I agree the more coaches a player experiences the better and sometimes the best coach available is a parent of a player on the team. It takes a special person to handle both roles. Kids who play all sports that are coached by mom or dad can have a very rough time later playing for someone else.
It is a special mom or dad to take so much time to coach their kid's team. It is a huge responsibility. It is also a dedicated person who have no children on the team take on that responsibility. It shows their dedication to the sport and their desire to make a difference in the community's children.
